The Arrogance of One Haughty Public Official

As an inhabitant of one of the suburb’s of Detroit, I can tell you that I am truly embarrassed over the mess in the city and our State.

What started out as charges by two police officers of harassment by the Mayor’s office a few years ago, has snowballed into multiple charges against the Mayor along with his Chief of Staff, Christine Beatty of conspiracy, obstruction of justice and misconduct in a sex filled text-messaging scandal that is getting hard to keep up with.

I have said for some time that this, “hip-hop,” Mayor should resign or be removed, however I know also that this will not be as easy as it sounds.

As of late, after virtually ignoring this circus, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm is more or less being forced to intervene in the situation because of the National coverage being garnered. Still, Granholm will most likely do nothing considering who Kilpatrick is, and the fact that he is a Democrat.

Now there could be new charges against Mayor Kilpatrick for assaulting a police officer doing his job serving a warrant to his friend at his sisters house. The officers, one whom is black, have accused Kilpatrick with physically throwing Officer White into the other officer while telling the black officer, “you should be ashamed by riding in the same car with a man named White?”

This is bothersome to me because of the fact that if you or I committed a crime of this nature to officers attempting to serve a warrant, we might still be sitting in jail, awaiting arraignment.

What does Kilpatrick’s mother think of all this nonsense? Caroline Cheeks-Kilpatrick is State Representative, and Detroit is part of her district. However, she cannot get too involved with the goings on with her son seeing how she is in the race of her life to keep her own job.

Mrs. Cheeks-Kilpatrick has not helped her son in other area’s either. For example, during a public debate with her challengers she told one aspiring Representative angrily that, “you cannot even carry my bra!” Could not carry her bra? Talk about arrogance!

I now think I understand the haughtiness of Mayor Kilpatrick. The apple surely does not fall far from the tree, does it?

Greetings Fellow Patriots

Right off the bat I would like to say that I am a Conservative that loves my country. And I have opinions. Of course, not all will agree with me on every thought, and I do not expect everyone to. But as Americans we should wish for a better place for our children, and, grand-children. I would hope that all thinking Americans reflect on the dreams and aspirations of our Forefathers and their Fathers before them. This is, and has been a great country for some 200 years, and I pray that we can somehow pull together and keep America vital and strong for years to come. I welcome all thoughts and comments from truthful and serious readers. Thank you. G.E.H. "A cruce salus"
